Terms & Conditions

Bookings

We have an online booking system through which you are required to register and pay for classes via secure online payment.  We will accept your booking when you have both completed the online booking and paid for the class/classes.

Payment for our services must have been made in full before we provide any of our services to you.

Missed Class Sessions

Unfortunately, we are unable to give refunds or carry over to a future booking for missed class sessions including, sickness or holidays.

Depending on the availability it may be possible for you to make up a missed session by attending another class/session. This should be within the block session period you have booked. You may also offer your place to a friend with a child if you are unable to attend or ‘gift’ the session to someone else. Please contact us to see if there is availability to do so.

If the class session is cancelled by Read, Play, Create you will be informed of the options of a different class to attend or refund. Classes can be cancelled by us for reasons such as:

  • Class Leader being unwell

  • Class leader experiencing having family circumstances which require them to be elsewhere

  • Power cuts or other unforeseen issues at the venue

  • Weather conditions

  • Not enough participants booked in to the class to make the class viable

Illness

Parents/carers are asked to keep their child/children at home if they have a serious infection and to inform Read, Play, Create as to the nature of the infection so that others can be alerted.
Please stay at home if your child has:

  • A fever or has had one in the previous 24 hours

  • Had an upset stomach or diarrhoea in the previous 48 hours

  • Heavy nasal discharge

  • Discharging eyes

Or if they have symptoms of possible communicable diseases such as:

  • Measles

  • Chicken pox

  • German measles

  • Whooping cough

  • Impetigo

  • Scarlett fever

  • Hand, foot and mouth disease

  • Norovirus

  • Coronavirus

We reserve the right to refuse admittance to the class if we feel that the child or adult is too ill to participate.

Health and Safety

Children must be always supervised and not left unattended. As a parent/carer, you must supervise your child/children closely when using the materials. Your child (or children) is your responsibility during the class sessions. The use of materials and equipment is at your own risk. The supervising adult takes full responsibility for themselves, and their child, and for everything that happens to them in relation to the class.

Please always follow the guidance from the class session instructor.

No liability can be accepted for any incident that occurs due to this guidance not being followed.

Please make your class instructor aware of any allergies or intolerances ahead of attending by filling out the form correctly. You will keep the class instructor informed of any health issues that arise over the course of the classes.

Further Health and Safety Guidance:

1.It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure the child/children do not interact with any material/food substance that may cause an allergic reaction to their child/children. We do not accept any responsibility for any accident, allergic reaction or illness found to be directly attributable to any product or item provided. It remains the responsibility of the parent/guardian in attendance for supervising the children they are accompanying.

2. Allergies or special requirements must be disclosed at the time of booking. We will make reasonable accommodations but cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.

3. While all props and play items are checked prior to commencement of the class session, should a parent/carer become aware of a new breakage of an item or prop during the session, it is their responsibility to inform the class instructor.

4. Parents/carers should monitor their child closely to prevent their children putting things in their mouth, and actively discourage them from doing so.

5. Parents/carers should note that in our sessions (for children aged 6 months to 5 years), we sometimes use props that are safety marked for over 3-year-olds. These are to be used under the strict supervision of the parent/carer.

6.We recommend that children wear clothing appropriate for messy play, or bring a change of clothes to a session, as Read, Play, Create will not be liable for any stains or marks on children's clothes.

9. Sometimes we provide natural materials for children to explore. It is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure their child does so safely.

10.You and your child/children use our services at your own risk. You and any child for which you are responsible use our Services and attend our Classes at your own risk and you are responsible for supervising any child in your care at all times (including during classes). We will not be liable to you for any loss, damage or injury suffered by you or a child for whom you are responsible as a consequence of you not following the points laid out in these terms and conditions.
