Read, Play, Create:
Helping children develop the language and confidence they need before and during the early years of school.

Story-led sessions and support for the early years — building language, communication and confidence through natural, engaging play.

It shouldn’t take until school for children to find their voice.

OUR ETHOS

More children are starting school without the language and confidence they need to access learning.

At Read, Play, Create, we support this earlier — helping children build vocabulary, communication and confidence through stories, play and meaningful interaction.

More than just messy play

This isn’t just messy play.

Every session is carefully designed around a story to:

  • build vocabulary

  • encourage conversation

  • develop imagination

  • support confidence

When children are engaged and enjoying themselves, that’s when the language comes.

Why Read, Play, Create?

Our sessions are:

  • Story-led, not worksheet-led

  • Focus on talk before writing

  • Designed by a qualified teacher

  • Calm, engaging and inclusive approach

Through our sessions, children begin to:

  • talk more confidently

  • explore new words and ideas

  • engage with stories

  • build communication skills through play

Parents often notice:

  • more talking at home

  • increased confidence

  • a growing interest in books

Created by a former primary teacher, Read, Play, Create was built from first-hand experience of children struggling with language and confidence in the early years.

Using a story-led approach, these sessions were first developed at home and are now supporting families across the Bromsgrove area.

Give your child a strong start through language, play and connection.
